CANTON Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County and the state Department of Environmental Conservation will present a one-day seminar on trees for municipal workers, groundskeepers, planning board and tree commission members, tree care professionals and others who want better outcomes and reduced costs for establishing community trees.
The class will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 1 at the Extensions Learning Farm classroom, 2043 Route 68, Canton.
Topics include site assessment and modification, species selection and evaluation, planting techniques, early maintenance and pruning.
The cost is $15, including lunch.
