LOWVILLE The 10th annual Snirt Run drew a slightly smaller crowd of ATV enthusiasts than last year, with approximately 3,120 registered participants.
Thats down about 200, said Gary R. Stinson, president of the Barnes Corners Sno-Pals snowmobile club. I think the weather and the snow had a lot to with it.
Though the weather may have attracted a smaller than anticipated crowd, it created safer riding conditions for the all-terrain vehicle drivers.
It kept the speeds down, Mr. Stinson said.
One ATV accident was reported about 2:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Gardner and Borkowski roads on the Lowville-Martinsburg line.
One person suffered undisclosed injuries.
Two incidents of property damage were reported, according to Lewis County Sheriffs Deputy Michael K. Leviker.
