CHAMPION- Roger L. Marsh, 87, formerly of 34687 North Lake Rd., died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the home of his daughter Laurie in Great Bend.

He was born on November 10, 1925 in Cortland County to Frank and Gladys Marsh. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He married Edith Jane Lawrence on June 30, 1951, she died on December 2, 2004.

He was employed as a mechanic for Car Care Specialties, Durkee’s Bread Co., and Willbrook Bread. He was a member of the Bassett-Baxter American Legion Post #789 in Carthage. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and his garden.

He is survived by two children; a son, Gerald Fred Marsh, Natural Bridge and a daughter, Laurie and her husband Jeffrey Files, Great Bend, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a good friend, Mark Emerson.

Calling Hours will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will be held in the spring in the Hillside Cemetery in Champion.
