TURIN — The academic leaders for the class of 2013 at South Lewis Central School are Lyndsay Hurilla, valedictorian, Raymond Pominville, salutatorian, and Jordan Andrč, technical honor student.

Miss Hurilla, daughter of Michael and Tracy Hurilla, Port Leyden, has a grade point average of 96.48. She is class treasurer and a member of SAVE (Students Against a Vanishing Environment), Falcon Friends, Youth Advisory Council, Yearbook, South Lewis Service Organization, Spanish Club, National Honor Society and the school’s swim team. Miss Hurilla received the George Eastman Young Leaders Award, a 2012 Student Sage Award and is a Lions Club Scholar. She plans to attend the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich.

Mr. Pominville, son of Anselum and Joan Pominville, Turin, has a grade point average of 95.27. He has participated in several school musicals and is a member of SAVE, Spanish Club, and the school’s soccer, ski, golf and track teams. He is a Lions Club Scholar and received the University of Rochester Xerox Award. Mr. Pominville plans to attend college and medical school to become a surgeon.

Mr. Andrč, son of Stephen and Alisa Andrč, Greig, has a grade point average of 91. He has played basketball for the school all four years of high school and is a member of National Honor Society and a Lions Club Scholar. Mr. Andrč will attend Hartwick College, Oneonta, before attending law school.
