Lisbon earned its first win of the season while Heuvelton recorded its second win and first shutout in Tuesdays NAC West Division Softball action.
The Golden Knights used a four run second inning to take a 6-1 lead and eventually won 11-8 over Hammond at home. The Bulldogs used a 14 run third inning to seal a 24-0 win over host Hermon-DeKalb for their second win in two days.
Lisbon 11, Hammond 8: Alyshia Murray scattered nine hits and five walks striking out four in a complete game win. The Knights (1-0) received a bases clearing triple from Alison Mitchell in the fourth. Mitchell and Gabby Walker each tripled and singled while Murray aided her cause with a double and asingle. Katie Sovie supplied two singles while Sierra Dobbs added a single.
Alyssa Crosby connected for a double and two singles for Hammond. Emily Bush added two singles while Mikayla Horton doubled. Gabby Marshall, Laura Workman, and Macy Wilson each singled.
Taylor Bowman and Horton combined for Hammond striking our four while allowing 11 walks and nine hits.
Heuvelton 24, Hermon-DeKalb 0: Junior Alexis Weidner hurled a two-hitter for the Bulldogs (2-0) allowing just one walk and one hit batter while striking out seven batters in five innings.
Logan Tallman connected for a double in a four-for-five effort at the plate with five runs scored. Paige McCormick supplied three hits including a double and four RBIs. Rachel Thornhill went 3-6 with four runs scored while Abbey Basford and Alexis Sawyer each singled twice. Abby Williams added a double while Weidner, Miranda Donnelly, Ali Scalone, Hannah Thornhill, and Alicia LaRose each singled.
Xanne Gothman and Chelsey MacKay each singled for H-D.
