CARTHAGE — Sisters Rhea and Katie Pitkin combined to strike out 13 and scattered four hits as General Brown blanked Carthage, 3-0, in a Frontier League crossover softball game Tuesday.

Nikki Maier and Chelsea VanTassel each produced RBI singles for General Brown.

Alexis Mondragon supplied three hits for Carthage.

SOUTH JEFFERSON 13, INDIAN RIVER 5

Heather Williams singled twice and drove in three runs to pace the Spartans to a crossover victory in Adams Center. Angela Cataldo scored three runs for South Jefferson.

Heidi Amato tripled and singled for the Warriors, and Haley Prudhomme singled twice.

LOWVILLE 7, BEAVER RIVER 5

Haley Riley struck out nine and the Red Raiders used a four-run third inning to outlast the Beavers for a “C” Division victory at Beaver Falls. Morgan McAleese and Chelsea Koster each generated RBI singles in the third for Lowville.

Taylor Buell had a pair of hits for Beaver River.

SOUTH LEWIS 11, THOUSAND ISLANDS 10

Ashley Szewil went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and the Falcons scored two runs in the seventh to rally for the victory in Clayton.

Jayne Strigle drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, for South Lewis.

Lindsay Barton went 3-for-4 for Thousand Islands.

ALEXANDRIA 25, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 1

Winning pitcher Lorraine Beard drove in four runs on three hits, including a double and a triple, to help power the Purple Ghosts to a “D” Division victory at Alexandria Bay.

Amanda Lingenfelter finished 2-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs, and Erika Langling was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Cassidy Daily added a double and two RBIs for Alexandria.

BASEBALL

SOUTH JEFFERSON 4, INDIAN RIVER 2

Logan LaFlamme struck out seven in six innings and provided an RBI double to lead the Spartans to a crossover victory in Adams.

Jacob Perry provided a pair of singles for South Jefferson.

Brady Bombard drove in both runs and hit a triple for Indian River.

CARTHAGE 6, GENERAL BROWN 5

Cody Spencer drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Comets to a crossover victory at Carthage. Tyler Clemons smacked a two-RBI double, and Dylan James finished with a double and an RBI for Carthage.

For the Lions, Jordan Schofield was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Ryan Ellis drove in two runs on a double.

SOUTH LEWIS 8, THOUSAND ISLANDS 0

Jason Martin struck out 14 in a two-hit, complete game shutout as the Falcons won a “C” Division game in Clayton.

Shawn Loomis slapped four singles and drove in two runs for South Lewis (1-0), while Luke Kelly drove in three.

BEAVER RIVER 17, LOWVILLE 6

Winning pitcher Sam Widrick went 3-for-3, including two doubles, and drove in six runs to spark the Beavers to a “C” Division victory in Beaver Falls.

Dustin Netto went 4-for-5, including a double for Beaver River. Brandon DeLong also went 3-for-3, including a double and drove in four runs.

Widrick combined on a four-hitter with his brother Christian Widrick.

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 12, ALEXANDRIA 10

Kyle Hallett drove in a pair of runs as the Panthers slugged their way to a “D” Division win in Alexandria Bay.

Tyler Bast went 3-for-5 with a double and a triple, and Tom Desormeau also had three hits for Belleville Henderson.

Bryn Erck belted out a pair of hits, including a double for Alexandria.

BOYS LACROSSE

IHC 17, LOWVILLE 3

Matt Moran powered the host Cavaliers with 11 points, including five goals, as they routed the Red Raiders.

Cole Carpenter supplied four goals and Nick Koelmel added three for Immaculate Heart Central.

WATERTOWN 12, SOUTH JEFFERSON 8

Kendall Vecchio totaled seven points, including four goals, and Brad McKinney scored five goals to propel the host Cyclones to victory in a crossover game.

Eric Soderquist chipped in with two goals and three assists for Watertown (1-1, 1-0). Marcus Lavarnway contributed four assists.

Brett Maguire supplied three goals and an assist for the Spartans (0-1, 0-3) and Benner Geurtsen had two goals and one assist.

CARTHAGE 18, INDIAN RIVER 0

Seth Leonard tallied six points, including four goals, as the Comets won an “A” Division game in Carthage.

Bailey Wilkenson and Paul Bracy each scored three goals and assisted on three others for Carthage (3-0, 2-0) and Casey Boulio contributed three goals.

Bracy also won 11 of 12 faceoffs for the Comets and collected 10 groundballs.
