EAST SYRACUSE — Seth Leonard totaled six points, including four goals, and Casey Boulio scored four goals to pace Carthage High School past East Syracuse-Minoa, 14-3, on Saturday in a nonleague boys lacrosse game.

Paul Bracy contributed three goals and two assists for the Comets (2-0) and Leonard was successful on 11 of 14 faceoff attempts.

Bailey Wilkenson chipped in with two goals and an assist for Carthage.

Goalie Trevor Gibbons made nine saves for the Comets, who built a 9-1 lead through the first half and allowed only two goals after halftime.

Alec Miller made nine saves for the Spartans (1-3).

WRESTLING

3 win ALL AMERICA HONORS

Three Frontier League wrestlers won All-American awards at the National High School Coaches Association wrestling championships in Virginia Beach, Va.

General Brown’s Ricardo Dawkins was the highest area finisher with a fifth-place showing in the 182-pound weight class in the freshman tournament.

Andy McFarland of Carthage earned seventh place at 113 pounds and Indian River’s Sonny McPherson placed seventh at 170 pounds in the freshman division.
