Watertown police charged a Glen Park woman at 12:26 p.m. Friday with second-degree criminal contempt.

Shannon M. Merrell, 23, of 502 Main St., Apt. 48, is accused of placing a phone call to Watertown resident Matthew J. Bessy, Clay Street, in violation of an order of protection he holds against her.

She was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment in City Court.

Ms. Merrell also was charged by city police with second-degree reckless endangerment about 4:58 p.m. Thursday following a domestic incident involving Mr. Bessy. In that incident, she is accused of shoving and tugging on Mr. Bessy, causing him to fall down a flight of stairs at his residence earlier that day.
