AT&T has launched its 4G LTE network in Watertown to offer its customers in Jefferson County the latest generation of wireless technology. Its 4G network includes Watertown, Black River, Calcium, Evans Mills and Fort Drum. Customers who have wireless Internet from AT&T will see the following benefits:

n Faster speeds and response time: LTE technology is capable of delivering mobile Internet speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G. It also offers lower latency, which is the processing time it takes to move data through a network. Lower latency helps to improve services such as mobile gaming, two-way video calling and telemedicine.

n New devices: AT&T offers several LTE-compatible devices, including 4G LTE smartphones and tablets.

n More efficient use of spectrum: the wireless spectrum is a finite resource, and LTE uses it more efficiently than other technologies. The network creates more space to carry data traffic and services.
