LOWVILLE A pair of training sessions for those interested in joining the Lewis County animal response team will be held Saturday.
The first session from 9 a.m. to noon will introduce emergency response systems, while one from 12:30 to 3 p.m. will cover hazardous material awareness.
The sessions will be held at Lewis County Search and Rescue, 7782 W. State St., and lunch will be provided between the sessions.
County officials, with the assistance of Dr. Deanna Fuller from Countryside Veterinary Clinic, in 2011 developed an animal disaster plan that included establishment of a volunteer response team.
Training is required to join the team, which would address animal care in the event of an emergency.
