The 2013 Local Food Guide for Jefferson County will be published soon by the Cornell Cooperative Extension office. The guide includes a free listing of farmers markets, stands, agribusinesses and wineries that offer locally grown and produced products.
To be eligible for a listing in the guide, farmers and business owners must sell locally grown food directly to the public at a market or home-based business. Locally owned businesses must buy directly from area farmers to be listed in the guide.
To receive an application, contact Lisa Vaughn at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County at firstname.lastname@example.org or 788-8450, ext. 261. The deadline for submitting information is May 1.
