Funeral services for Gerard A. Lespinasse age 73 of Proctor Avenue in Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday April 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Deacon Mark Lalonde officiating. Burial will follow the service in Riverside Cemetery, Rossie, NY.

Calling hours will be held also on Monday from 12:00noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Lespinasse died Monday (Mar 25, 2013) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center after being stricken at home.

Surviving is his wife Mary Walsh Lespinasse of Rossie; 2 sons Anthony and Gerard Lespinasse of New York City, a step-daughter Corrin Brown and 12 brothers and sisters.

Gerard was born in Jacmel, Haiti on Oct. 15, 1939, the son of Wilfrid & Aline (Lherisson) Lespinasse. He migrated to the US at the age of 26, and became a naturalized citizen. He graduated from college in New York City and began his career with the NYS Department of Corrections in 1990. He then married Mary Walsh in Sept. 2001 and worked as a Corrections Officer at Riverview Correctional Facility until his retirement in 2005.

He enjoyed traveling and working in his flower and vegetable gardens.
