DRYDEN — Joey Spooner scored a game-high six goals as the Jefferson Community College men’s lacrosse team rallied to a 17-16 Region 3 East Division victory over Tompkins Cortland Community College on Wednesday.

Kyle Scordo and Dave Damon added three goals apiece for the Cannoneers (1-4 overall, 1-0 division). They will host Hudson Valley Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday at General Brown High School.

Mike Hartnett and Stephen Park each scored four goals for the Panthers (1-4, 0-1).

SUNY PLATTSBURGH 8, CLARKSON 7

Brett McClelland scored with 1 minute, 51 seconds left in overtime to give the Cardinals (8-1) a nonconference victory in Plattsburgh.

McClelland finished with three goals. Joey Kramer scored twice for SUNY Plattsburgh.

Mark Nortz and Brendon Shearin each scored twice for Clarkson (4-3). Corey Herrington, Jeff Sciera and Jack Dowst added one goal apiece.

KEAN 11, SUNY POTSDAM 10

Brad Mills scored with 1:37 left in regulation to lift Kean (7-1) in a nonconference game in Union, N.J.

Sean Bobal led Kean with five goals and one assist. Richard Cheifitz scored three goals and Mills finished with two.

Pat Morill scored three goals for the Bears (3-2). Ed Doherty scored twice and Kyle Nicholas, Rob Kunz, Pat Bonafede, Kevin Logan and Matt Kennedy added single goals.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

SYRACUSE 17, BOSTON COLLEGE 12

Carthage product Kailah Kempney scored a team-high three goals, her highest output of the season, to lead the nationally-ranked No. 5/6 Orange to a victory over the Eagles (4-6) in Newton, Mass.

Syracuse (5-2) scored four goals in the first five minutes and never trailed. On Saturday, the Orange will play at Northwestern in a rematch of last year’s national title game.

SUNY CANTON 17, SUNYIT 8

Keeley Rice registered four goals with three assists and Tressa Goolden added four goals and one assist to lead SUNY Canton past SUNYIT in a nonconference game in Marcy.

Megan Poupore scored three goals and added two assists for the Kangaroos (3-3 overall). Devyn Hutcheson and Brooke Knight each scored twice and Robyn Carroll and Brittani Bessette added single goals.

Laura Tolbert scored four times, and Jenna Lashua scored twice for SUNYIT (0-4).
