ANIMAL CRUELTY - CANTON - St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department deputies picked up Kevin D. Campbell, 33, of 61 County Route 56, Parishville, on an arrest warrant charging him with a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty following an incident reported to police on Monday. Campbell allegedly failed to provide adequate food, water and shelter for his dog over a three-day period. When he was being taken into custody on the arrest warrant at 863 state Route 420 in the town of Stockholm, he was found to be in possession of five pills identified as Adderall XR. He was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Campbell was arraigned on the warrant by Pierrepont Town Justice Robert Camp and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $500 cash. He made his first appearance later in the week in Parishville Town Court on the animal cruelty charge, and bail was continued at $500 cash. He was arraigned on the drug count by Stockholm Town Justice Wayne Williams and sent back to the county jail with bail set at $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
DWI - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Christian D. Feete, 18, of Greenlawn with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 11:20 p.m. Thursday on state Route 11 in the town of Potsdam after troopers observed his vehicle cross over the center road markings. He was also ticketed for failure to keep right. Feete reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.10 percent.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT - CHAMPLAIN - Chazy-based state police investigated a two-vehicle accident at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on County Route 19 at state Route 11 in the town of Champlain. Troopers said the vehicles were operated by Samuel E. Merriam, 38, of Brasher Falls and Helen C. Bedard, 54, of Champlain.
CELL PHONE - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Jeffrey G. Stone, 22, of Canton for driving while using a mobile phone following a traffic stop at 12:13 a.m. Thursday on Main Street.
STOP SIGN - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Angela M. Caracci, 22, of Gouverneur for failure to stop at a stop sign following a traffic stop at 9:11 p.m. Thursday on Washington Street. Police said an officer observed Caracci fail to stop at the stop sign on Washington at Market streets.
LEAVING SCENE - MASSENA - Village police charged Russell D. Spencer, 44, of 130 Court St., Apt. 403, Watertown, with leaving the scene of a property damage accident at 11:12 a.m. Thursday following an investigation into a property damage accident that took place at 9 a.m. March 17 in the Quality Inn parking lot.
SPEEDING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Matthew W. Tarlach, 22, of Dundee for speed in zone (49/30) following a traffic stop at 10:45 p.m. Thursday on Maple Street.
SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Teena M. Paige, 39, of Malone for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 7:55 a.m. Friday on East Hatfield Street.
INADEQUATE HEADLIGHT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed James A. Webb, 37, of Massena for operation of a vehicle with an inadequate headlight and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop at 5:06 a.m. Friday on Main Street.
