Robert J. Taylor, 30, of 122 Winslow St., Apt. 1, was charged by Watertown police Thursday morning at 213 S. Hamilton St. with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Mr. Taylor is accused of possessing an unregistered .40-caliber Walther handgun. Mr. Taylor had a prior third-degree assault conviction on Aug. 8, 2011.

He was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment.
