BROWNVILLE — Adam J. Shields, 29, of 217 E. Main St., Brownville, was charged on Thursday by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies with second-degree assault, a felony, and second-degree harassment.

Mr. Shields is accused of punching Robert G. Rapholz several times in the head, causing multiple eye socket fractures to the man’s head, face and eyes during an incident on Thursday. Deputies also said Mr. Shields spit on the man’s face.

Mr. Shields was arraigned in Brownville Village Court and released on his recognizance. He was summoned to appear back in court on April 4.
