ORANGE, Texas - The opening contest of the 2013 B.A.S.S. Bassmaster Elite Series will be featured on ESPN2 this Sunday morning giving St. Lawrence County viewers a chance to see what will be happening here in August when the series comes to Waddington.

The broadcast is expected to air at 8 a.m. Sunday on ESPN2 (check your local listings).

The Sabine River Challenge took place on the Sabine River System in Orange, Texas last weekend, setting attendance records for the Elite series: nearly 34,000 people attended the event over four days, with 15,000 people in attendance last Saturday alone. The Bassmaster web site, www.bassmaster.com , logged about 6.5 million page views during the Texas tournament.

On August 8-11, the B.A.S.S. Bassmaster Elite Series St. Lawrence River Showdown will bring the world’s top 100 bass anglers to the Waddington riverfront, with the Village of Waddington as official host. The public is encouraged to attend the daily launches and weigh-ins and the closing day ceremony, as well as the Tastes and Talents of the North Country festival that will be happening during the event.

There are numerous ways to get involved now in the St. Lawrence River Showdown, whether as a corporate and individual sponsor, a presenter or vendor at the festival, or a volunteer now and in August.
