CANTON Middlebury College used a strong second half to defeat St. Lawrence University 11-4 in a nonconference college mens lacrosse game on Wednesday.
Middlebury (4-0 overall), ranked No. 14 nationally, outscored the Saints 9-2 in the second half, snapping a 2-2 tie at the break.
Jon Broome and Stew Kerr each scored two goals for Middlebury, while Mike Giordano, Sean Carroll, Joel Blockowicz, Harrson Goodking, Mike Fod, Erich Pfeffer and Tim Giarrusso each added single goals.
Jeremy Vautour led the Saints (2-3) with three goals and Tucker Garfield also scored.
■ Katie VanDeValk scored four goals with one assist to lead the Clarkson womens lacrosse team to an 8-5 win over Washington & Jefferson in a nonconference game Wednesday at West Palm Beach, Fla.
Alyssa Cristaldi scored three goals to help Clarkson improve to 4-0. Marissa Mastronardi also scored for Clarkson. Brittany Fradkin and Danielle Cochrane each scored twice for the Presidents.
