The recent letter in the paper from Paul Charleston, Winthrop, prompted me to write a note of thanks to Mr. Charleston for his dedicated service. I try to always thank veterans when I see them.

We just lost our dear cousin, a veteran of the Vietnam War, who died from Agent Orange exposure. He was only 63 and died a very painful death. And guess what? He finally got some money from the Army as recompense for all his suffering. He died shortly after.

The government is treating our vets terribly. I thank vets for all their service.
