CAPE VINCENT — The Development Authority of the North Country is setting up a broadband network switch room at the fire station on Broadway as part of an ongoing project to hook more communities to its fiber-optic line.

Joseph Gould, president of the Cape Vincent Volunteer Fire Department, said DANC reached out to fire officials last fall regarding the project.

The 10-foot-by-12-foot office space for the switch room was provided to DANC free because Fire Department members thought the project would benefit the entire community, Mr. Gould said.
