CANTON Local ice skaters will showcase their skills Saturday evening as they skate to a variety of songs from past generations during the St. Lawrence Figure Skating Clubs 60th annual show.
Titled Somewhere in Time, the event starts at 6:30 p.m. at Appleton Arena on the St. Lawrence University campus.
Three graduating seniors from Canton Centrals Hugh C. Williams High School will perform solos: Holly Fanning, Emma Rexford and Elizabeth Parker.
Shannon Flanagan, a graduating SLU senior, also will perform.
One of the fun numbers has club member MaKayla Cruikshank impersonating Michael Jackson and joining other skaters to bring a performance of Thriller to the ice.
Songs from six different decades will be featured:
■ 1950 How Much is that Doggie in the Window?
■ 1960 I Dream of Jeannie
■ 1970 Happy Days and You Should be Dancing/YMCA
■ 1980 Thriller
■ 1990 Toy Story
■ 2000 Pirates of the Caribbean and Single Ladies
Tickets are available now, $6 per person or $5 for senior citizens. Kids under four years of age are free.
