The Northern New York Academy’s Under-17 boys soccer team won its division in the Mid-Atlantic Premier Soccer (MAPS) Spring Challenge tournament over the weekend in Hammonton, N.J.

The team, guided by Jefferson Community College men’s soccer coach Chris Pacilio, took first place in the U-17 Boys Mid-Atlantic Soccer Showcase League Division.

The Northern New York Academy’s Under-15 team placed fourth in the Boys MSSL Division. More than 170 teams from the East Coast competed in the tournament.

The Northern New York Academy players were selected from local youth soccer clubs from Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence and northern Oswego counties.
