Virgal L. Patchen, 81, of Clyde, Hunts Corner Rd. (formerly of Watertown) died Sat. Mar. 16, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Friends may call Tues. 5-8 PM at the Pusateri-Canolesio Funeral Home, 68 Sodus St., Clyde, NY. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Wed. at 1 PM with Rev. Dana Rattray. Burial in Maplegrove Cemetery, Clyde. Memorials to Clyde Ambulance Service, Ford St., Clyde, 14433 or American Cancer Society.
Virgal was born in Natural Bridge, NY. Aug. 20, 1931, son of Harold & Lera Hicks Patchen. He operated his own painting & roofing contracting business for over 40 yrs. He also was a bus driver, ran a gas station, worked at Bordens & St. Regis Paper Mill.
Survived by his wife of 36 yrs. Darlene Van Allen Fratus Patchen, his loving children; Virgil (Dawn) Jr., Doug (Heather), Gary (Kathy), Martin (Kersten), Mia (Suzanne), Renee (Bruce), Marsha (Dale) Patchen, Darrin, Arthur (Kim), Tim (Mary) Fratus, 5 sisters; Margaret McEkron, Aleta Meeks, Patricia Kirkland, Shirley Curtis & Charlotte Bishop, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews. Predeceased by brothers & sisters; Bernice, Harold J., James & Ruth.
