MASSENA - Members of the Massena Music Friends are encouraging those attending this coming weekends Massena High School music and drama department production of Back to the 80s to arrive early and enjoy the retro décor and refreshments in the lobby. Were planning to deck out the lobby outside the auditorium both Friday and Saturday nights with 80s-era decorations, movie and album posters and other fun stuff,, MMF President Paul Haggett said. Well also have light refreshments for purchase, with proceeds going to MMF.In addition, Music Friends will have a candy raffle, a 50-50 drawing and 80s music playing to prime the audience for the musical, which features dozens of tunes from the 1980s pop songbook.
But probably the most totally awesome lobby activity will be a cardboard cut-out photo booth, featuring paintings of 80s-style male and female rock stars. Audience members are encouraged to bring their cameras and have a great time taking photos of their friends and family as glammed-up 80s rockers. Photo-ops are available for no charge, but donations will be accepted.
Tickets for Back to the 80s are still available in advance at the high school box office from 3:30-5:30 p.m. weekdays for $10 each. Credit and debit card orders can also be taken by phone by calling director Chris Lincoln at 764-3710 ext. 3128. Purchased tickets can be picked up at the lobby the night of the show.
