WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Senior captain Brigid Hurley scored four goals to lead 14 St. Lawrence players in the scoring column as the Saints claimed a 20-9 victory over Ohio Wesleyan in a women’s lacrosse game Monday.

Holly Noyes, Blythe Crasto and Caroline Bailey added two goals apiece for the Saints (1-1), who will play Keene State on Wednesday in the same location.

Carly VanTassel finished with a pair of assists for St. Lawrence.

BASEBALL

SALEM 10, ST. LAWRENCE 8

Bryan Palermo provided four hits but the Saints dropped their third straight game, losing to the Vikings in Fort Myers, Fla.

Carter Franz and Khifer O’Connor each finished with a pair of doubles for St. Lawrence (1-3).

SOFTBALL

ST. LAWRENCE 16, FRANCISCAN 1

Natasha Bell went 4-for-4 and drove in a run and Elizabeth McGinley tossed a three-hitter and also doubled to pace the Saints to a nonconference victory in Clermont, Fla.

Cailyn Welsh doubled twice for St. Lawrence (4-2) and Leslie Stratton singled twice.

ST. LAWRENCE 4, WESTFIELD STATE 1

Kyle Plimpton pitched a four-hitter, striking out 11, as the Saints won their first game of the day in a nonconference meeting in Clermont, Fla.

Elizabeth McGinley and Chelsea Cavellier each singled twice for St. Lawrence.

Celina Sinico singled twice for Westfield State.

SUNY CANTON 7-2, SUNY COBLESKILL 0-3

Tina DeLuca spun a two-hitter and also singled, doubled and drove in a run as the Kangaroos won the first game of a doubleheader in Queensbury to post their first victory of the season.

Allie Gibson homered and singled for SUNY Canton (1-9) in the opener and Nicole Mulieri and Jessica Rhodes each singled twice.

Cobleskill’s Erin Wadsworth tossed a no-hitter in the second game, striking out 15 for the Tigers (2-2) in the second game. The Kangaroos scored a pair of unearned runs.

MEN’S TENNIS

COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY 8, ST. LAWRENCE 1

Senior co-captain Michael Hayden provided the lone point for the Saints as they lost to the Lions (5-0) in Orlando, Fla.

St. Lawrence dropped to 4-2 on the season and plays Roger Williams at 8 a.m. today in the same location.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY 6, ST. LAWRENCE 3

Shannon Murphy generated two of the Saints’ three points in their loss to the national-ranked No. 26 Lions (10-0) in Orlando.

Murphy won her singles match, 6-4, 6-0, then claimed an 8-6 doubles victory with Elkie Vandenbeemt for St. Lawrence (2-2), which is ranked No. 15 in the northeast.
