Watertown city police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 100 to 200 block of Franklin Street Sunday night.

Calling it “an on-going investigation,” Detective Sgt. Joseph R. Donoghue said the unidentified man suffered non-life threatening injuries. The victim and the suspect know each other, he said.

“We know the players,” he said.

The incident happened on the sidewalk about 6 p.m. An acquaintance took the victim to Samaritan Medical Center, where police were then called, Detective Donoghue said.

No other information was available Monday morning.
