John S. Oregon, 24, of 10700 County Route 77, Adams, was charged by city police Thursday night at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Police said Mr. Oregon violated the terms of a Family Court order of protection about 9:30 p.m. Monday at 829 Boyd St. when he forced open an apartment door, causing damage, then pushed and struck Claire V. Brown. He also is accused of grabbing a cellphone from her and removing its battery when she tried to call the police.
He was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment in City Court.
