WCNY-TV’s regional Women Who Make America honorees included several from the north country.

Seventeen women from the PBS station’s 19-county broadcast area received awards March 1at the Women’s Rights National Historical Park in Seneca Falls.

They included Kimberly Burch, who owns the Cedar Pine Tavern in Osceola, and Karen Y. Richmond, executive director of the Children’s Home of Jefferson County, both for community activism; Carrie M. Tuttle, engineering director for the Development Authority of the North Country, for science and technology, and the Gouverneur Business Women Breast Cancer Walk Fund executive committee, composed of Carolyn Pistolesi, Marilyn LaPierre, Judy Bush, Mona Allen, Becky Fiacco and Terry Pistolesi, for volunteerism.

The station’s local public affairs show “Insight” will feature the honorees at 9 tonight on WCNY and is available online at www.wcny.org/insight.
