MORRISTOWN — A Hammond man was charged with first-degree sexual abuse for alleged sexual contact with a person under the age of 13, St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies said.

Gerard P. Scime, 57, was arrested Tuesday and accused of abuse from 2004 to 2010, when the alleged victim turned 12, deputies said. The youth’s gender was not identified by deputies.

Deputies said the investigation is continuing, as Scime ran a campground in Morristown and there may be additional victims outside the area. The name of the campground was not released Tuesday.

Scime was sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond.
