FORT DRUM A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Army Criminal Investigation Command to anyone with information about the vandalism of multiple vehicles on post in December.
According to a press release from the command, the vehicles, parked on North Lewis Avenue in the Rhicard Hills housing area, were damaged sometime the night of Dec. 14 or the following morning. More damage was found on multiple vehicles parked on Middle Lewis Avenue and another parked on South Lewis Avenue.
In total, the unknown vandal slashed and punctured all four tires on each of the vehicles, causing damage estimated at about $25,000 to $30,000.
The command said a person involved may have suffered a cut during the commission of the crime.
Those with information about the case are asked to call the posts CID office at 772-5417 or its Military Police desk at 772-5157. Tips also may be mailed to usarmy.belvoir.usacidc.mail.crime-tips@mail.mil. The release said requests from people wishing to remain anonymous will be honored to the degree allowable under the law and the information will be held in the strictest confidence allowable.
