The Work Place is accepting applications to hire up to 50 production workers at New York Air Brake, 748 Starbuck Ave.

The employment agency at 1000 Coffeen St. will accept the applications through March 15. Those who apply must have at least a GED or high school diploma and at least one year in production experience is preferred. Applications will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The windfall of jobs comes after Air Brake announced last week it will close its Knorr Brake Ltd. facility in Kingston, Ontario, and move to its Watertown headquarters up to 50 jobs to manufacture locomotive braking products.
