WORTH — A Middleport man was taken to a Syracuse hospital after he was injured in a snowmobile accident early Sunday on Loomis Road.

State police said Eric W. Shafer, 49, was diving his snowmobile near Hayes Road about 2 a.m. when he lost control of the sled and it hit a tree.

He suffered a broken shoulder and was taken to Upstate Medical University, from which he was later released, police said.
