PARISHVILLE - Fire and rescue units and divers from around the county were toned out at 8:15 p.m. Monday to a report of two snowmobiles that had gone through the ice on the Rainbow Falls Reservoir, an artificial lake in the southwest corner of the town of Parishville.

Parishville Rescue, according to scanner traffic, reported at 9:15 p.m. that three victims were out of the water and that a fourth person was still in the water.

Emergency officials on scene had reported to Central Dispatch that victims were reportedly in the water in the vicinity of 946 Raquette River Road.

At least two of the victims were transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, and another victim, described as suffering from severe hypothermia, was being transported to Swift Field in South Colton to meet a LifeNet helicopter coming from Watertown. The chopper was expected to arrive in South Colton at 10:15 p.m. to pick up a 56-year-old male who had been in the water for approximately one hour but the chopper crew reported at 10:10 p.m. they were diverting to the Potsdam Airport due to ground conditions.
