A Rochester company is beginning to contact St. Lawrence County businesses and chambers of commerce about a series of videos that will promote the county.

The project by CGI Communications is supported by the county Chamber of Commerce and sanctioned by the Board of Legislators. The videos will be on the county and chamber websites when completed.

CGI sells advertising that will be associated with the videos.

“If you’re contacted by CGI, we want you to know they are legitimate,” chamber Executive Director Patricia L. McKeown said in a statement. “The choice is yours whether or not to participate. There is no pressure.”

Filming at various locations is set to take place in late May. The videos are scheduled to be online by Aug. 1.
