NORFOLK — Francis T. Green, 35, of 81 Pumpkin Hill Road, Parishville, was charged by state police with petit larceny at 7:55 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Green is accused of breaking into several cars parked outside the Hotel Grande restaurant and trying to steal valuables from them, but police said that he was spotted by a witness before he could get away with anything.

He is scheduled to appear in Norfolk Town Court.
