Anita J. Boyer, 73, passed away February 11, 2013 at the Hawthorne Inn Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since January 3, 2007 in Clinton, Illinois. She had been ill with Alzheimers.
Anita was born April 13, 1939 in Schenectady, New York to parents John Patrick McLean and Gladys Marion Narrow McLean. She graduated from Watertown High School.
A marriage to Gene E. McConnell Sr. ended in divorce, she then married Herman A. Boyer Sr., June 14, 1975 .
Over the years she worked for Fachneys, Watertown Linen Supply, Watertown Daily Times and the State Office Building. She was involved in the Eagles Club FOE 782 and the American Legion of Watertown, NY.
Anita loved spending time with her family, and she also loved playing cares and bingo.
Anita is survived by her husband, Herman Boyer, Sr. (Clinton, IL), two daughters: Penny & husband Kenneth Putnam (Watertown, NY), Pamela & husband Allen McConnell (Watertown, NY), five sons: Gene McConnell Jr. and companion Crystal (Pierrepont Manor, NY), Timothy McConnell Sr. (Glen Park, NY), John Boyer (Clinton, IL), Tommy & wife Rebecca Boyer (Clinton, IL), Herman & wife Janet Boyer (Clinton, IL), a step daughter Terry (Kandy) Antwine (North Carolina), daughter in law: Therese McConnell (Watertown, NY), half sister: Sandra & husband Robert Carpenter (Watertown, NY), 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Gladys Narrow McLean.
A Funeral Service was held February 18, 2013 at the Calvert Chapel in Clinton, IL. with J. Kent Hickerson officiating.
