Two people were named Monday in grand jury indictments unsealed in Jefferson County Court alleging they had and sold drugs within the county in separate incidents.

Jannah R. Smith, 35, of 648 Bronson St., is charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that she sold cocaine twice on the same day in mid-January. She pleaded not guilty to the charges at arraignment and was sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $20,000 bail.

Robert J. Dalton II, 26, of 100 W. Remington St., Apt. A, Black River, faces counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that he sold heroin in early November. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was sent to the PSB on $20,000 bail.

In other court activity Monday:

David F. Murdock, 39, Natural Bridge, pleaded guilty to third-degree rape. The plea cancels a trial that was set to begin next week in the matter. He was charged in an indictment handed up in October with having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old female in January 2012 in the town of Wilna. He is expected to be sentenced April 26 to 10 years’ probation.

John J. McKillip, 24, Cape Vincent, was sentenced to three years’ probation for Jan. 2 guilty pleas to fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. He admitted that he possessed an unregistered handgun Jan. 28, 2012, in the presence of a 2-year-old girl at his residence. Police had gone to his home to investigate a reported domestic dispute.

In court Friday, Daniel D. Renvill, 19, Bronx, was sentenced to 1 years in state prison, followed by two years’ post-release supervision, for a Jan. 30 guilty plea to third-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. He admitted that on Nov. 21 he possessed heroin with the intent to sell the drug. He was a passenger in a vehicle halted on Interstate 81 in the town of Ellisburg in which police said 50 packets of heroin were found.
