STAR LAKE — A garage in Star Lake was destroyed in a structure fire Saturday, and the attached home suffered moderate damage before being saved by firefighters.

The Star Lake, Newton Falls, Fine and Cranberry Lake fire departments all responded to the blaze at 309 Youngs Road at 2:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Donna Lawrence, Gouverneur, owns the property and Ed Dowling is its only occupant.
