Mass of Christian Burial for Irene I. Jenne, 91, of Russell, will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church in Canton with Rev. Douglas Lucia, celebrating. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be in the spring. Irene died on Tuesday, February 19 at the United Helpers Riverledge Nursing Home.

Friends may call at the O’Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton on Thursday, February 21 from 4-7pm. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Russell Fire and Rescue.

Surviving Irene are brothers, Donald “Joe” and Daniel Burnham; sisters, Virginia Kammerer and Marie Scala and several nieces and nephews.

Irene is predeceased by two children at birth, a brother Robert Burnham and by sisters, Dorothy Hill and Lucille Wells.

She was born June 12, 1921 in Potsdam, the daughter of the late Aaron and Adelaide (Mousaw) Burnham. She married Jerome “Hazy” Jenne on December 3, 1941 at the St. Mary’s Rectory in Canton. Hazy predeceased her in 1996.

Irene enjoyed sewing, spending summers on Boyd Pond, college basketball and was an accomplished quilter.
