Jasmine Canady scored 20 points and Morgan Kiernan added 17 as the third-seeded Jefferson Community College womens basketball team beat No. 6 Corning CC, 62-47, in a Mid-State Athletic Conference quarterfinal game on Tuesday night.
Tapulei Vaveao chipped in 12 points for the host Cannoneers (12-15), who beat the Red Barons for the second time in four days.
Marissa Pike led Corning CC (4-22) with 17 points and Mollie Peck added 16.
JCC will play No. 2 Finger Lakes CC in Fridays semifinals at Onondaga CC at 7 p.m.
■ Sean Carbonell contributed 14 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks to help guide Finger Lakes CC (13-15, 10-3) over Jefferson CC, 68-52, in a Mid-State Athletic Conference tournament mens quarterfinal game at Canandaigua.
Andrew McNitt and Derrick Williams each scored 13 points, and McNitt pulled down 13 rebounds for JCC (6-20, 1-12), whose season ended.
