Sandy Creek
Winners: Two pairs recently took home top honors in Sandy Creek Central Schools Top Chef competition. The event tests the knowledge of baking, cooking methods, menu planning, preparation, sanitation and safety for students in the schools food and nutrition class. Appetizer, main dish or dessert dishes must be prepared with less than 10 ingredients, contain no unfamiliar ingredients or alcohol, be prepared with classroom kitchen equipment and be a new, untested creation. The judges, made up of school faculty and former class participants, evaluate overall presentation, taste and creativity. Top Chefs were Karintha Myslivecek and Alexis Donohoe, who prepared an Apple Dapple cake, and Jay Ivison and Kortney Steele, who prepared red velvet brownies.
