CANTON — Opt-out forms are now available for pistol permit holders who do not wish to have their information made public through Freedom of Information Law requests, St. Lawrence County Clerk Mary Lou Rupp said.

The form can be found at www.troopers.ny.gov/optoutfoil or at the county’s site, www.stlawco.org. Under the County Clerk department choose the “NY SAFE Act” tab to find information and a link for the form.

The forms also will be available at the County Clerk’s Office and all St. Lawrence County DMV offices.

Once completed they should be sent to the County Clerk’s Office at 48 Court St.,Canton, 13617.

Anyone with questions also may call the Clerk’s Office at 379-2237.
