PARISHVILLE — A celebration of life for 77 year old Raymond C. LaBar of Parishville will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Knapps Station Community Church, 3035 County Rt. 47, Norwood, from 1:00 PM t0 4:00 PM. Raymond died at Canton-Potsdam Hospital on February 9, 2013.

Survivors include his wife Betty of Parishville, a sister Bernice Hallinan of Katy, TX, and several nieces and nephews. Ray was pre-deceased by two half brothers Edwin Wells, Jr. and Edison Wells, and a half sister Marjorie Bray Sucese.

He was born in the family homestead where he lived in the Town of Parishville on September 5, 1935 the son of Clayton R. and Eva (Richards) LaBar. Following school Raymond served in the U. S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He married Betty J. White at Holy Cross Church, in Hopkinton on April 10, 1956.

His early employment included work at ALCOA in Massena, followed by mechanic work at Earl Sweet’s Market Motors in Potsdam. For many years Raymond worked for Aeon Sales in Potsdam as an air conditioning and heating installer and technician. Raymond was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.
