Perennial Section 3 girls basketball champion South Jefferson received a No. 1 seed in Class B, and Thousand Islands claimed the No. 2 seed in Class C-1 as the pairings and brackets for this years tournament were announced on Wednesday.
South Jefferson (17-0), which has won nine of the last 11 Class B titles, drew a first-round bye in Class B and will play host to the Marcellus/Skaneateles winner in a quarterfinal game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Thousand Islands (15-2) will open sectional play against No. 7 Tully (8-10) in a home Class C-1 quarterfinal at 6 p.m. Friday.
Eight other Frontier League teams qualified for this years tournament.
In Class A, Carthage (12-6) is the No. 3 seed and will play host to No. 6 East Syracuse-Minoa (10-8) in a quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Indian River (12-6) is seeded fifth in Class A and will be on the road at No. 4 Oneida (12-6) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
General Brown (11-7) is the No. 11 seed in Class B and plays a first-round game at No. 6 Bishop Grimes (14-4) at 7 p.m. Friday.
South Lewis (9-9) is No. 6 in Class C-1 and plays a quarterfinal at No. 3 Little Falls (14-4) at 7 p.m. Friday.
Beaver River (6-12) is No. 8 in Class C-1 and travels to top-seeded Cooperstown (16-2) for a quarterfinal matchup at 7 p.m. Friday.
In Class D, No. 6 Alexandria (9-9) has a first-round home game against No. 11 Stockbridge Valley (6-11) at 6 p.m. Friday.
Copenhagen (14-3), seeded No. 3, is home against the Alexandria/Stockbridge Valley winner in the quarterfinals at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
And No. 4 Sackets Harbor (10-7) will be home against No. 5 Otselic Valley (5-13) in a 6:30 p.m. quarterfinal on Wednesday.
