POTSDAM — Village police charged Michael D. Dinan, 44, Potsdam, with second-degree harassment at 4:40 p.m. Friday.

Police said Mr. Dinan sent repetitive, “inappropriate” and harassing text messages to an unidentified acquaintance on the evening of Jan. 28.

He is to appear in Potsdam Town Court.
