A Beaver Falls man was in Watertown police custody Feb. 4 after being charged in a gun theft Feb. 3 at Steves Towing, 249 Coffeen St.
The arrest of Kyle T. Hart, 22, Beaver Falls, followed a witnesss prompt call with a vehicle description, police said.
Mr. Hart is charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and single counts of third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was to be arraigned in City Court.
Police said he is accused of using his elbow to break a window about 4:30 p.m. Feb. 3, enabling him to enter Steves Towing.
Police allege he stole a shotgun and a bolt action hunting rifle belonging to Jason J. Gilmore, Perch Lake Road.
The witness saw an intruder exit through the broken window, and provided a description of the persons getaway car, police said.
Patrols halted Mr. Harts car at 4:55 p.m. in the 600 block of LeRay Street, police said. The guns were recovered at that time, police said.
