A city of Watertown trash-hauling truck overturned at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday on Route 12 in the town of Pamelia, forcing the closure of a stretch of the highway for about an hour.

The driver, Shawn Hutchins, who was checked at the scene by ambulance personnel, was not injured, said Eugene P. Hayes, public works superintendent. State police are investigating the accident.

Traffic was detoured at Route 342 and at Murrock Circle, according to state police.

The truck was towed to the city DPW barn.
