FALSE WRITTEN STATEMENT - CANTON - Massena-based state police charged Nelson C. Connell, 59, of Brasher Falls with filing a false written statement and failing to renew his license to carry a pistol Thursday. Troopers said the charges stemmed from an incident reported at 8 a.m. Jan. 22 from the village of Canton.

AGGRAVATED DWI - ST. REGIS FALLS - Malone-based state police charged Thomas E. Patnode, 62, of St. Regis Falls with aggravated driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana and ticketed him for operating a vehicle with an inadequate exhaust system at 7:35 p.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on state Route 458 in the town of Waverly.

AGGRAVATED DWI - ST. REGIS FALLS - Malone-based state police charged Frederick S. Fraser, 30, of St. Regis Falls with aggravated driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle on a public highway and ticketed him for speeding at 1:24 a.m. Friday following a traffic stop on state Route 458 in the town of Waverly.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - MADRID - State police investigated a number of property damage accidents around the region on Thursday. Among those were:

■ Cassie L. Burnett. 23, of Winthrop at 9:24 a.m. on state Route 310, near Planty Road, in the town of Madrid.

■ Karl K. Whipple, 50, of Brushton and Ronald H. Snow, 49, of Moira were involved in a two-vehicle collision at 12:37 p.m. on County Route 8, near North Woods Road, in the village of Brushton.

■ Jackie L. Bush, 21, of Dickinson Center at 9:22 p.m. on South Woods Road, near Joetown Road, in the town of Moira.

HARASSMENT - MASSENA - Massena-based state police reported Friday they had charged Donald A. Bogart, 48, of Massena with seocnd-degree harassment on Feb. 1. The charge stemmed from a complaint filed with troopers at 12:57 a.m. Jan. 15.
