A north country native died in a two-car collision Tuesday in Rainbow Bay, Eleuthera, Bahamas, according to a daily newspaper in Nassau, Bahamas.
The Tribune reported Wednesday that 56-year-old Walter B. Boname, a Clayton resident and well-known local fishing and hunting guide, died in a traffic accident Tuesday morning that sent five others to a clinic for treatment of minor injuries.
Local police said Mr. Boname was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina with three passengers, all of whom were U.S. citizens, and collided head-on with a Chevrolet Malibu after drifting into the wrong side of the road, according to the newspapers website.
Mr. Boname was reportedly ejected from his car when the vehicles collided and died on the scene.
