Douglas A. Sweredoski, 66, Delray Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on January 22, 2013 after a two year battle with cancer, with his loving wife Rosie and family at this side. Doug was born on November 25, 1946, in Lowville, NY the son of Mitchel and Winifred Swerredoski. He attended schools in Sackets Harbor and Watertown and joined the US Navy in 1964, serving in North Africa and aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence, and honorably discharged in 1967. He owned and operated businessess in Pulaski, Lowvville, and Watertown, before relocating to Delray Beach, Fl. Doug retired from the Florida Corrections Department in 2012 as a parole officer.
He is survived by his mother, Winifred Rowsam Sweredosk; Watertown, and children Scott, Flort Pierce, Fl. and Jill Aldrich, Jacksonville, Florida. He is also survvived by five siblings: Darrell, Watertown; Deanna Froysell, Adams; Delia Kimmett, Knoxvill, TN; Connie Muldovan, Watertown; and Sandy Bolton, Watertown.
A memorial mass was held on January 25 in Delray Beach and burial was in the Veteran Military Cemetary in Delray Beach.
